As part of the recently-passed farm bill, Congress has declared that cannabidiol (CBD) is now legal in
all 50 states. CDB is derived from marijuana, but it has none of the mind-altering characteristics of that plant.
Though some debate about CBD's effectiveness, many people insist that it helps with chronic pain caused by such conditions as arthritis. CBD has also been linked to reducing anxiety and depression. I have written in the past about CBD and seizures.
Check With Your Doctor Before Starting
For those persons disabled by such chronic conditions as arthritis, depression, anxiety, and seizures,
the fact that CBD is now legal everywhere is good news. It is worth discussing CBD with your doctor to see if she thinks it could aid any of your medical problems. This is notably true for those persons with seizures--this is not a condition to try to treat on your own.
Not Hemp Oil
If your doctor okays it, you can buy CBD from a local food cooperative or health food store. If you do, keep in mind that you want CBD from marijuana plants. Do not buy hemp oil, derived from marijuana seeds, as it has almost no active ingredients. Many retailers will try to confuse the two items.
Working For You?
Are you using CBD? Is it helping? Are you prepared to try it now that it is legal all across America? Let me know.
